WHAT WILL I LEARN?
In this one year course you can expect ....
To learn:
Advanced cabinet-making techniques
Wood machining
Design Skills
Wood finishing
A health and safety module (if not completed at level 2 previously)

Learning methods:
Practical activities in the workshop
Tutor demonstrations
Some lectures on technical drawing and technology
Assessments:
You are continuously assessed by practical exercises and written work.
You produce a portfolio of learning and complete a timed practical assignment.
A one-hour multiple choice exam in health and safety.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
5+ GCSEs at grade A*–C (grades 4–9) including English and maths
or
BTEC level 2 Diploma grade Merit or Distinction, plus GCSE grade C/4 or above
or
Functional Skills at level 2 in English and maths.

Applicants will be invited to attend an interview and complete an internal assessment. All students will have their literacy and numeracy needs supported within the programme.
