The courses on offer are all located in workshops in Oxford City centre. The provider of all the courses is the City of Oxford College, which is part of the Activate Learning Group. The Degree courses are in partnership with Oxford Brookes University.

BA (HONS) FURNITURE: DESIGN AND MAKE

The programme is aimed at aspiring furniture designer-makers and provides a work-related Honours top-up progression route for holders of a Foundation Degree or HND in Furniture Design and Make.

FOUNDATION DEGREE FURNITURE: DESIGN AND MAKE

The programme balances design, craft and theory to nurture furniture designers and makers of excellent ability who can progress to employment or further study with a broad understanding of the processes involved in the design and craft of furniture.

FURNITURE MAKING LEVEL 1&2 APPRENTICESHIP

This course is aimed at students who want to gain a qualification while still getting real workshop experience at the same time.

FURNITURE MAKING LEVEL 2 DIPLOMA

It’s an introductory course which helps you to learn a vocational area: woodwork. By training at City of Oxford College’s renowned Rycotewood Furniture Centre you learn the principles of handcrafted furniture from industry-trained tutors.

FURNITURE MAKING LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA

It’s a practical course which covers woodmachine training, advanced furniture making techniques and finishing skills. Successful students can progress to our furniture design and make foundation degree.

WOODWORK: SHORT COURSES FOR ADULTS (6 OR 12 WEEKS)
