BA (HONS) FURNITURE: DESIGN AND MAKE

The programme is aimed at aspiring furniture designer-makers and provides a work-related Honours top-up progression route for holders of a Foundation Degree or HND in Furniture Design and Make.

BA (Hons): My Products

MODULES

Professional Design and Make (30 Credits) 

A design and make project inspired by a live brief from a leading furniture company. This looks at creating a bespoke piece and being able to interpret a brief to reach a production ready item of furniture. Previous years have worked with William Hands looking into healthy living and working from home.

Professional Development (30 Credits)

This unit is splits into two: self promotion and small crafted batch production. This module is designed to prepare the students for their futures in furniture.

Personal Project (Written) (30 Credits)

This module consists of a 5,000 word research essay. Students have the freedom to choose their subject matter, which inspire them.

Personal Project (Design and Make) (30 Credits)

The second half of your personal project, following on from the written piece. The conclusion from the essay will sculpt the item of furniture(s). This is the chance for students to really showcase their talents.
